Niagara Holdings Company - Construction Phase 1

Niagara Holdings, a Ontario headquartered business group, announced today the construction of their Phase 1- 20,000 sq ft industrial facility in Welland, located in the Enterprise Industrial Subdivision at Highway 140 and Ridge Road.

The ground breaking ceremony was attended by Frank Campion, The Mayor of the City of Welland, Dan Degazio, Director of Economic Development, Jayesh Menon, Niagara Foreign Trade Zone Co-ordinator, Amin Jadavji, President of Intravision Greens Canada, Per Age Lysa, Chief Executive Officer of Intravision Group Norway, Roy Timms, President of Timbro and prominent City officials

The 20,000 sq ft purpose built facility will house one of the most sophisticated and automated indoor farms in the world. The very first of its scale in Canada, the facility is designed for high volume production of leafy greens including Romaine, Arugula, Kale and Basil. The operations, run by Intravision Greens (Canada), are targeted to commence during first quarter 2019. “The location in Welland, with its ability to scale up rapidly, it’s green and clean environment and close proximity to several key markets, is of considerable strategic value”, said Amin Jadavji, President of Intravision Greens Canada.

Intravision Greens Canada together with Intravision Group Norway (, is a leading provider of technology featuring broad spectrum lighting and full system integration. Backed by technology perfected at the University of Guelph’s Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility, the company’s focus is on multi-band and spectrum variable LED lights, enabling biological control and optimization of plant responses to specific wavelengths between UVA and IR light

The Design Build contract for the facility has been awarded to Timbro, one of Welland’s best known engineering firms, with over 100 years of experience in Ontario.
