Women in Sports

Welland was featured by the Toronto Star, after sports staff reporter Lauren Pelly took notice that five of the most powerful women in sports all hail from our relatively small city of 50,000. Welland Forge takes its name from the city of Welland, Ontario, in which it is located on an eleven-acre site. The operation was established in 1965 and its manufacturing facilities are housed in a modern building with 100,000 square feet under roof.

In order to survive, Welland Forge has continued to invest in modern equipment and the facility today is considered to be world class. Approximately 65% of sales are exported to the United States, Mexico and Brazil. Current employment level is 95 people and the operation consists of 7 hammers and 5 forging presses.
