Darren Peters founded Peters Excavating Inc. in 2004 as a general contracting company, and it began with a handful of employees and a few key pieces of equipment — one excavator, two triaxle dump trucks, and one backhoe. At that time, the company was focused on underground infrastructure projects for local municipalities.

As the company grew, it invested in additional staff and equipment, and its range of services and expertise expanded. Peters Construction Group started taking on larger, more specialized jobs and has grown into a multi-disciplinary corporation that offers a wide range of professional services that meet the ever-changing demands and requirements of clients. Despite its growth and success, the company has remained a family owned and operated business with core values of quality and professionalism.

Peters Construction Group is a rapidly growing group of companies that consists of: Peters Excavating Inc., Peters Crushing and Recycling Inc., Peters Environmental Inc., EnviroGrow Soil Solutions Inc., Peters Development Inc., Peters Haulage Inc, and Peters Concrete Inc. As a competitive heavy civil contractor, the company’s disciplines include: road construction, earthworks, mobile crushing, environmental remediation, project management and development, and material hauling and disposal.

From its humble beginnings, Peters Construction Group now consists of nearly 200 employees, 60 triaxle dump trucks, water and hydrovac trucks, live bottom and end dump trailers, and more than 150 pieces of equipment. Working from offices in St. Catharines, Stevensville, and Welland, this is a company with demonstrated capabilities in providing a full range of contracting services.
