City of Welland Development Charges

The purpose of development charges is to recover the growth-related costs associated with the capital infrastructure needed to service new development and redevelopment within the municipality. To promote economic development within the City, industrial projects are not subject to any City development charges.

Additionally, Welland’s Development Charges By-law contain policies that can reduce and exempt City development charges for projects meeting certain criteria.
