Walls going up at Welland fire headquarters

Walls are up on Welland Fire and Emergency Services new $13.67 million headquarters/Station 1. The building, at 400 East Main St., sits on the site where Atlas Specialty Steels had stood for decades, includes a training tower. It will also be home to the city’s volunteer firefighters from Station 4 on Rose Avenue and Station 5 on Schisler Road.
