Welland Firehouse Subs now open; third restaurant for family in Niagara
Firehouse Subs‘ 48th Canadian location opened in Welland Friday.
Located at 905 Niagara St., the franchise marks the fourth owned and opened by brothers Purvang and Pete Patel and their cousin Vishal Patel.
“As we open up our fourth location, we’re thrilled to have assisted in growing the brand across Ontario,” said Purvang in a release.
“It’s important to us that we provide the heartfelt service and hot and hearty food we’re known for to all of our guests, so it’s exciting to take that to the next level with our newest Firehouse Subs in Welland. It’s been such a rewarding journey to open our restaurants together, especially with a brand as passionate about giving back as we are.”
The three have worked for international restaurant chains and have a combined 15 years of industry experience among them. Their first Firehouse Subs franchise opened in 2017 in Niagara Falls, the second in 2019 in Stoney Creek and the third last year in St. Catharines.
The release said the Patels will continue Firehouse Subs’ commitment to providing funding, life-saving equipment and education opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations, through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.
To date, the foundation has granted more than $1.7 million across Ontario.
The restaurant chain is based in Jacksonville, Fla.
